So I've gotten use to the car and a good feel of her. When cruising I've noticed that the trans doesn't always want to go in overdrive let's say when I want it too. Or when at a steady speed and slowing a touch that it feels floaty in which gear it wants to go to. Like when you just have the weight if your foot on the pedal at your speed but you feel like your slowing a little so you have to give it a touch more gas and it doesn't seem to speed up so you give it a little more and then it'll downshift and go about your way. When people say they have their shift points adjusted when tuned is this what is getting adjusted or something else. I know transmissions shift differently so I don't know if that's how they are or if I need to exercise my warranty. Any info would b appreciated.

I've gotten my base tune for the transmission re-done by Chuck over at corvettes of westchester and then I've been tweaking it on my own with EFIlive.

What year is your XLR?

On the 06+ with the 6-speed - both 5th and 6th gears are over drive gears - are you saying that your XLR doesn't shift beyond 4th gear?

No no. I'm saying that when you go off a light overall speed to 40 the trans shifts quickly through the gears and when it figures out that your gonna stay at 40 it seems floaty like it doesn't know to downshift or stay in overdrive. Kind of like when your cruisin and you realize your slowing a touch so you have to give it a little more gas to get you to the "rpm's,speed" you were at. I don't think their is anything wrong with the trans. I think it's design I hope. When only giving the car 1/8 th throttle does your car go through the gears all the way to overdrive in the same timing and fashion or in my case it feels like it rides in fourth a little longer than should. Like it should go to overdrive when it realizes I don't wanna go any faster. What do you change with the trans on EFILIVE. Is it shift points, or firmness cause it could use both. I've heard little of it but also new and interested in reprogramming, remapping of many things on car. Like I said I don't think something is wrong but I've also read of people's torque converters being jacked up or this and that in brand new cars and the car and GM brand is new to me so I'm trying to figure it out. Thanks for any info!

Oh rich was that chuck in westchester,Ill. I know there is a big corvette collection warehouse business west of me.
