Help! Under Hood Light is actually burned out!

So I went away for my annual trip to the sun for 2 months, left on the battery minder, and when I returned I have discovered that the light under the hood is out. Checked to see if it could be a 20 minute time-out thing but alas.......it's done.

Has anyone changed out their bulb under there and if so, what is the best way to get the light freed for the process.

Carefully push in on the top end the tabs and linse will come out but cover engine compartment with towels so the linse doesn't fall down and on the front crossmember.

2nds on the towel. My lens cover is now on my cross member! Can't recover it without a lift.
