My XLR/V(s)
2004
Going through my '04 that I bought about 4 months ago trying to bring it back to excellent condition. On my first road trip I put the top up and had terrible wind noise in the front center, just above the windshield. It started at exactly 60 MPH and got worse as I increased speed. I took it in to the Cadillac dealership (Brown and Wood, Greenville, NC). They told me I needed a new gasket around the top. I ordered it from GM Parts Direct and saved a couple of hundred dollars, then took it back and had them install it, which cost another couple of hundred dollars. Picked it up, took it on the road and got up to 80MPH. ZERO wind noise!! Very pleased with the result. Brown and Wood has one of the best service departments I've ever dealt with. They also found out my XLR came from them originally, so I now have a complete history on it. I am loving a top down ride each evening after work. I will never not own a convertible again.

Hi XLRPirate,

I am happy to hear that your baby is sounding good again! :)

A little TLC and a great dealership go a long way, sounds like you have both. Happy and safe travels,

Thanks for the advice. Mine did the same at 50mph. I'll have the local dealership check it out.
