A few weeks ago I started noticing a new and different noise as I was cruising above parking lot speed, kind of like a growling sound. It sounded like a bearing in the rear but to be sure I jacked up the front end and spun the wheels and they sounded and felt fine. As rear wheel bearings are much cheaper then anything else it could be, I decided to start there. Simple job, remove wheel, remove axle nut, pull out the bearing, stick in the new bearing sit back and enjoy a wobble pop or two. Nope....... A little more involved then that, but not really too difficult. The bearings are replaced as a unit with the hub. To remove the hub you need to disconnect the tie rod, and the upper and lower ball joints. So if I'm going that far I might as well replace the CV axles and while I'm there the differential seals also. It took me about 5 hours, 3 hours on the first side and 2 on the next. It did solve the problem, so time and money well spent.
