My 2006 V was delivered last week and I am interested in doing some performance mods. I am surprised how few XLR-Vs are modded. I bought it for the wife but wanted to add a few more ponies for when I drive it to the lake. Does anyone have parts they don't plan to install? Anyone de-modding before a sale. Thanks in advance for the help.

Headers are pretty much impossible to find and don't add much without CAI, pulley, X-Pipe, and a real good dyno tune.CAI and exhaust options are readily available off the shelf. A pulley swap will likely require additional cooling?

I have my stock HX from my CTSV intercooler that I could adapt. I bought a new SC for the XLRV today that I plan to have ported and pullied. I'm not looking for crazy power as I drive a modded CTSV.

I tried three different HX intercooler (I think one might have been off a CTS-V) and none of them made a significant difference . Replacing the pump with a high volume high flow pump helped much more.

I upgraded my CTSV pump to a varimax. What are the specs on the stock pump?

I'm still looking for a cold air intake that is an upgrade to stock. Any recommendations?

volant makes a CAI that is specific for the xlr and another for the xlr V
some guys put together a similar setup with custom kits/ parts
some even custom fitted all the way to the intake
DIY cold air intake
depends on your preference , amount of effort you want to put in...
my money would go with the volant.

Hey Lextoy, do you know why the CAI from Volant seem to only be listed as 2005 to 2009?

i am 99% sure the volante will fit all model years 04 to 09
just be sure you get the correct one,
either XLR base/platinum(aka 320hp),
or XLR V (aka 443hp)
if you search the site, i am sure someone has put one on the 04 base ,
which is what i assume you are asking about.

Lextoy, I have a 2008 Cadillac xlr-v, can you give me the specific part number for the Volant CAI 4.4L?
