Help! XLR PREMIUM CARE

GOT MY 2008 XLT PLATINUM LAST WEEK FROM A AUDI DEALER IN ROSWELL, GA..GOT BACK HOME AND WENT TO THE LOCAL CADILLAC DEALERSHIP IN PAWLEYS ISLAND, SC TO HAVE SERVICE DONE UNDER THE "PREMIUM CARE" THAT COMES WITH THE XLR...THEY WERE LIKE "what"???DID NOT HAVE A CLUE. I SHOWED THEM IN THE BOOK WHAT IT IS AND THEY SAID IT WOULD HAVE TO BE TRANSFERED..I SAID OK WHAT DO WE NEED TO DO...THEY STILL CAN NOT FIGURE IT OUT SO I CALLED OWNER CARE WITH CADILLAC AND THEY SAID THEY WILL CALL BACK TOMORROW WITH A ANSWER...IT IS SIMPLE EVERY OWNER OF THE XLR IS COVERED BUT THEY DO NOT KNOW HOW TO GET THE OLD OWNERS NAME OFF AND MINE ON...COME ON PEOPLE..LOOK @ THE PAPER WORK AND CHANGE IT TO MY NAME..CORP AMERICA,WHAT A JOKE !!! ANYBODY KNOW HOW I CAN GET THIS DONE ??? PS: IN SERVICE DATE 6/30/2009 WITH 12,200 MILES.:bash:
 
A Little Clarification

At the bottom of the inside back cover of the 2008 XLR Sales Brochure is a description of Premium Care. Compliments of Cadillac. It says: "As a new XLR or XLR-V owner, you are entitled to complimentary maintenance visits, scheduled regularly for the first four years or 50,000 miles of ownership, whichever comes first. So you don't have to worry about replacing oil, the oil filter, the engine air filter or the passenger compartment air filter in your vehicle. It's taken care of. To schedule a complimentary maintenance visit, please contact your Cadillac dealer."
It must have been a new offer for 2008 as it is not in my 2007 XLR Sales Brochure. There are same/similiar paragraphs in 2008 that were in the 2007 Brochure on Onstar, Engine, Assembly, etc but the Premium Care ... and Cadillac Owner Privileges were added in 2008. On another note I paid to CPO my XLR and the certificate is titled "Premium Certified Pre-Owned Limited Warranty" which is what I at first thought you were referring to. The CPO can be transferred to the next owner if it is still in force - 6 yrs, 100,000 miles from the original delivery date. The certificate also refers to a Certified Pre-owned warranty manual. Does anyone have this?
 
Complementary Service on used XLR

I don't remember seeing a reference to complementary basic service in the 2004 XLR book but I did receive complementary service until the first 4 years of service expired at two different dealerships on my car. Same for warranty work. They looked up the vin and said ok, its covered. I understand that only the XLR was covered for maintenance in 2004. It is not a cpo used car and I eventually purchased GMPP for it, in fact I just renewed the GMPP for an additional 3 years.

I just bought a used non cpo 2011 EXT. So today I called up Cadillac to see if I had to to anything special for warranty or premium service and again was advised that the dealership will just verify the vin, service and warranty are covered til after 4 years or 50K of service. All 2011 and 2012 Cadillacs have comp service as well as OnStar and XM service.
 
Hey just wanted to chime in on the subject. Was looking at some papers the dealer gave me from previous owner. It said the bumper to bumper was a 4 year that went up in 08. Then there was special coverage 10150 that went to 100,010 miles and 2014. Also special coverage 06081 that went to 120,000 and 2014. Along with emission select components that go to 80,000 or 2012. My question is how do you find out about these, and what's covered in the warranties. I have a check engine light on and it's caused by a faulty o2 sensor. If I could have Cadillac take care of it I will just don't know how. Any info on this or good aftermarket warranty programs would b great thanks.

Just wanted to chime in on the warranty issue. I have a bad oxygen sensor so I looked through the manual and saw that every caddy has the bumper to bumper. They also have the warranties stated above all depending on in service date. My 04 has emission warranty till 3-15-12 which covers cats,ECM,PCM. Not the o2 sensor of course. Theirs other coverage that goes to 2014 which covers the gas cap, and something with the gas tanks. I think that's stuff that people read initially and forget years down the road. I had called a number 1-800-458-8006 ( caddy warranty). The people were very nice and very willing to help you need your vin to find out. Hope this informs.

The dealership in Pawleys Island SC is the worst....I'm in Myrtle Beach and was interested in buying an XLR from a private seller who lives in Pawleys...He directed me to the dealership you mention to get the service records on the car.He had been servicing the car there for the last 6 years...Totally UNhelpfull even though the current owner gave authorization..Lied to me about why there were no service records on the carfax...Wouldn't sell me a service contract either....I wouldn't go there for air in my tires..Now I guess it's nitrogen...I just happened across this old post and had to chime in.

Sadly, this type "customer service" is becoming the norm in America today!

Bugsy, Sorry that this has happened to you, it should not. I have had great service from Coastal Cadillac with my XLR and Eldorado ETC. Service Advisor Candy has gone the EXTRA MILE for me many times. I also take my 2002 Nissan Altima 3.5 with 30,000 miles to Coastal Nissan next door.
I am thinking about putting my 2008 XLR PLATINUM up for sale soon. I have ALL service records and have done all the schedule service by age not miles and the list of service done is quite extensive. I now have about 21,500 on it now. If you would like to see it let me know when the MONSOONS are over with. 13poolside@gmail.com. Jim

Hey,Poolside13,I emailed you,Didn't realize yours was Red & Shale.....I want one with a black interior....Either Silver,Gray,Satin Nickel or Black paint....As far as your input about Coastal....Good to know
