XLR rear end gear ratio

Has anyone lowered the rear end gear ratio in their XLR ?
I was wondering if the would help the performance
Would it negatively effect the automatic transmission performance?

Try this thread. It is very a detailed in the explanation. The biggest thing I read in Pak's post is that the XLR has a different rear transaxle than the Corvette does.
