One day, an XLR V will be in my garage. In preparing for this, I have three questions;

#1. Knowing that they were made from 2006 through 2009, is there a desired year to look for when I get ready to make my purchase?

#2. Are production numbers available that indicates how many of each exterior color was made for each year?

#3. Is there an exterior color that is hard to find?

1. Personally, I really like the last year - 2009 because the Black Olive Ash wood trim looks fantastic.

2. Production numbers are right here on the XLR Net: 2009 Cadillac XLR and XLR-V Tech Center - XLR Net Scroll down to Production and click the link.

3. Black Cherry is the hardest to find

I would tend towards the "middle years" - '06 & '07 - because as GM drifted closer to bankruptcy, there was some quality drop off. Don't know that I've seen it as much in XLR's, but definitely in other Caddies & GM cars (e.g. a 2010 Buick gently driven by someone in their mid-80's, with 55k miles, had the tranny blow up & the mechanic said he would avoid cars made during the bankruptcy).

Just my opinion/2 cents!

For the most part, the 2004 thru 2008 models look the same. Only the 2009 models look a little different. Obviously, 2009 models usually command the highest prices with other factors being even.

Not unusual to find XLRs of all years with very low mileage and in very good condition. A LOT of these cars were somebody's baby and treated that way.

Concerning color, get the color YOU like!

Thank You

I think I will be looking for a XLR V when it comes time to buy one.
