2004
I have a 2004 XLR that I've had and currently have a problem with the climate control and the display with outside temp display.
Problem is that on rare occasion the temp. does not display and the climate control screen is blank; as if it has no power.
Sometimes I can bump the side of the unit and it will come back on; right now that's not working. I've looked at all fuses that have any connection to the hvac and climate control and found nothing wrong.:dunno:

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks, Jim :)

The outside temperature display is on the navigation screen - how is it not displaying (is the little blue area blank, is the little blue area nonexistant, or is the whole screen not on/black)?

THe HVAC unit is fairly easy to get to, though you do have to remove the shifter and center console trim to get to the middle stack. I'd check the connection at the back of the HVAC unit first. If that is good, a new unit may be needed.

Let us know!

The outside temp is displaying degrees F with no temperature; this has happened each time the HVAC screen loses power, so they have to be linked somehow.
Thanks for your reply, any help is greatly appreciated.

I'd still take the console apart and check the connections at the end of the HVAC unit. Keep it out, keep it plugged in and try it. If it works intermittently (when you hit it a little) you know it needs to be replaced. Conversely, you'll know if the wiring is bad if is okay when you hit it but goes bad when you tug the wiring.

:) Thanks, I've got it fixed; for some reason the center electrical plug on the unit was unplugged completely.
With it plugged in again all works as it should.
I'm really glad I didn't have to get a new module.

Thanks again, Jim

Do you know how it got unplugged? Did you have it out before?

I have no idea how it got unplugged and I've never had it out or apart.
......

Wow! Then it wasn't a dream afterall!

No, seriously, I am glad that it was easily fixed. I also hope that these connections aren't losse and eventually work themselves off.
