Great insight. Thank you for sharing that. Can you upload some pictures of your rims? If not, I totally understand. If your life is busy like mine the last thing you want is another task... ha ha!
If you happen to have some pics already and it's not too much of a hassle I would love to see them...
I will look into that. Thanks for the suggestion. My only concern is since the paint is flaking off would they be able to fix that with a touch up. Worth checking out though... I'll reply here with what I find out.
I was surprised they were flaking because as you pointed out, powder coat wouldn't flake as far as I know.
Thanks for the tip. I'm really leaning towards getting them stripped (is that sandblasted?) and powder coated. Maybe that's a step up in quality as well...
I'm so bummed right now. I pulled in in front of my house, an action I've performed a thousand times, but I was off a little bit off this day. I pulled up to the curb and heard my tires brush up against the concrete. There wasn't any screech of metal sound, or even reason to believe the rims had...
Thanks for the referral. That's no too far from me either.
Good bbq recommendation too!
Just finished a website for a client of mine who just opened up a new bbq restaraunt in Gilbert.

I have a 2006 XLR V and the driver seat is becoming quite thin. I was wondering if anyone had any good seat cover recommendations. I usually don't like going the route of seat covers, because they never seem to fit tight. But right now I'd like to compare the options and pricing of...
I see many threads on here where XLR owners have taken their vehicle to the dealer, or even trusted mechanic, and are unable to identify the problem. That is the reason why I am sharing my mechanic's information on this site. His name is Danny (I actually got his information from another member...
I was having the same problem, or, well... similar. My code was a bad knock sensor. After changing both knock sensors and the light still occasionally coming on, he discovered a loose connection. I know that's not much help, but have your mechanic approach it like an electrical problem. Worth a...
Google is really pushing "https" over "http". An ssl certificate (properly installed) will fix this. It's a little overkill for them to show this message on sites that don't take payment information.

Fuse 18 is the airbag fuse in my owners book too. Must have been some miscommunication. Fuse 30 caught my eye though. Rear Fog Lamps, Diagnostic Link Connector

It was a strange fix for that issue, but yes, fuse 18 (rear window defroster?) somehow impeded the scan tool from reading anything. Just a blank screen until the burned out one was replaced. I have a 2006 xlr v with 65,000 miles on it.

Thanks everyone for your time in helping me solve this. What keeps bugging me is my friend at brake masters scan tool seems to be working! See my pics above...

Thanks for this link and info. My only fear is what if I erase my working fob to follow the process outlined here, and am unable to program them either of them after!
Not saying that would happen, just trying to do some risk management here :).
There was an interesting point on there about the...
It sounds like they were able to plug in the diagnostic reader no problem, it just wouldn't read anything. They tried 4 other ones in the shop too just in case it was the reader but no such luck. It's strange, I have a friend at Brake Masters who plugged his in and it works as in it's pulling my...
I am getting a new fob programmed as a backup, currently I only have one working fob. The dealer, and later a key service shop, both informed me they can't get a reading from the obd 2(?) when they plug it in to program this new key.
Has anyone else heard of or experienced this same issue?
I...
