I got a gift recently (to commemorate the addition of a 2015 Jag F-Type Coupe R) which was a metal wall poster of the car, that looks a bit like a blueprint. Really cool, but when I checked the Etsy website they, alas, had only a few 'popular cars'... so I emailed, and Marcos had me send him...
Welcome! I am 'right down the road' if there is such a thing in AZ, in Peoria.. have fun with a black on black out here. Mine has a light interior (pewter?) so that helps. But I love the thought of all black. Having windows tinted soon...
I would. I am going to get better tires on mine and will replace all 4, as occasionally the "witches cauldron" (thats what my wife thought the TPMS indicator looked like!) says my driver front is FLAT (which it is not) and thus gives me warnings about 55mph max speed. I didn't test it, I wonder...
Cars, Comedians, Coffee, Seinfeld and Brian Regan
So, i just watched this episode with great anticipation! I love Brian Regan, he is fantastic, and per Mr. Seinfeld, the XLR is his favorite car. So I was very excited.
But, not so Mr. Seinfeld. He pretty much characterized the XLR as a toy for...
Marking Territory
The Ferrari (1990), and 928S4 (1988) both mark territory. The 'F' has only 35,000, the Porsche 120K. The SLK55AMG (a gut German engine) at 115K is also handbuilt engine, narry a drop ....
Must be catching, cause now the XLR decided to join the club at 71K miles. A little...
Unsatisfying Closure to this Thread
I purchased a WindRestrictor and during the install, removed the box to run wires per instructions.
While cycling the top, I found that the FLAP NOW SEATS properly.
So, not sure what I bumped, moved, shifted etc but it is fixed.
I really just wish...
LED's and thanks again
LEDs are in, I have a lift in my garage so wheels off, panel off and headlight out made it a breeze. (FYI the SLK 55 AMG requires the same thing to put bulbs in)...
Resistors on order to solve the fast blink. No more melted headlights ever.:blinzel: Right?
I don't...
My search function needs work
Yeah, when I search in advanced search for LED it comes up empty. I think my browser doesn't:dunno: like me. I will try again.
Update on the XLR 2005 Headlights
Yeah, I know this is like "Hey, have you guys heard about this internet thing??" - old news, boss.
Anyway, checked headlights (see photos)... Driver side 'looks' ok but I can just start to see the beginning of some orange burn color.
Passenger... uh oh, but...
Gotcha!
Yep, this is EXACTLY what I wanted to know; thanks for consolidating it into a sound bite. I am on my way back to Phx after two weeks away, and will finally have a chance to LOOK at the car (wife has been tooling around for a fact!) and I will see what is in there and then what I need...
So, what should I do? After reading all these threads...
SO, with my new to me 2005; I don't think I have an issue with the headlights ... yet.... what *should* I do to prevent issue? Run without the DRL? Replace the bulb with ... what?
If i can prevent the problem I would like to, but maybe I...
Wife saw one on second day of ownership
My wife took the XLR out for a spin and get some petrol on the second day we had it, pulled up to a red one at the gas station. Honestly, right in the neighbor hood in Peoria AZ.... SHe said the fellow gassing it said "It was his wife's car"... if you are...
Just got mine and not scared.
I also own a 1990 Ferrari Testarossa. I believe Ferrari only made 7,717 of these over 11 years. So, maybe there are 700 of these made for 1990, and maybe 1/2 of them still not wrecked
The headlights are activated by a stalk on the steering wheel, and...
I now have TWO cars with torque tubes!
By the way, if you visit the garage, you see my Porsche 928S4 (1988)... another car with a torque tube arrangement!
The automatic versions of the 928 suffered from defective / deteriorating flex plates, that would expand and put forward pressure on the...
TOO LATE!!!! DARN!!!!!
I already bought one before I knew... you just delivered it!!!! :bash: :(:dunno:
I got the multi color remote, at my daughters insistance...XLR etching.:thumbsup
Gonna install it, after I see why my tonneau flap won't seat!!!:thumbsup
the 'lever' rod
This is good stuff, I just need to poke around. When I tried to move the center cover when the top was down, I couldnt lift it like it shows in your pic, maybe this was part way through the top lowering process. I am travelling for work for 10 days so I will look at it when I...
I have been thinking about this car for YEARS! Now part of the collection, and if I can pry my wife out of it, I might get to drive it! Fantastic!:blinzel:
Thanks!
Hawk... thanks so much for the quick reply; gotta love a forum where people are involved! I will look for what the heck the 'lever rod' is (anyone have a pic?) and see what happens. Fantastic!:thumbsup
New owner here! 2005 XLR, top works fine but that middle flap won't lie flat when the top is down; it sits perfect when the top is up making a perfectly flat rear window deck. I hear a 'thunk' when it seats, but it isn't flat and the rubber lip doesn't mate with the trunk lid deck, maybe a 1/2"...
