2004 XLR Dashboard break light on.

I slammed on the brakes and on came the light, took it to the GM mechanic, can't override the system, must replace the "Brake Pressure Modulator Valve" part # 89060303.
found a part at a wrecking yard, no more dealer stock and discontinued, please help!

The modular valve is self setting i would check for a leak in system, once you have leak fixed pressing hard on brake peddle light should go out. Make sure the parking brake isn't turning on the light.
