As the Power Tour’s Activities Wind Down, Coker Tire Heats Up With An After Party​

Chattanooga, TN (April 2010) –By now, you’ve probably heard that the Hot Rod Power Tour is coming through the great city of Chattanooga, Tennessee on Wednesday, June 9th, on its way across the country. You might also know that Coker Tire Company is the official sponsor of the Chattanooga stop. What you may not know is that Coker Tire is throwing a huge after party when the day’s activities wind down at the Chattanooga State Technical Community College. It’ll be a casual event with a cruise in atmosphere, and Coker is blocking off the streets surrounding its headquarters to house all of the hot rodders and show them a good time.

The Coker Tire block party will kick off at 5:30pm and hot rodders will be able to enjoy good food and entertainment, and they can tour the Coker Tire and Honest Charley facilities. The new Honest Charley Garage is just across the street from the main headquarters, and it will be open to visitors, who can check out its latest buildups. Additional vendors will be brought in for the participant’s convenience, and the block party will last as long as Coker Tire sees fit.

On Thursday morning, the driver’s meeting will be held at Coker Tire, so if participants don’t want to drive across town to and from your hotel, Staybridge Suites is right across the street, providing a convenient and comfortable place to stay. It’s close to the Interstate 24, so hopping on the highway will be quick and easy for all of the drivers.

The Hot Rod Power Tour brings in thousands of collector car enthusiasts to the area for a day of fun. Coker Tire plans to keep the fun alive well into the night, and make the Chattanooga, Tennessee stop the most memorable of the entire seven-city tour. Block Party

To all my XLR Friends,

Coker Tire in Chattanooga is owned by my friend Corky Coker. This is the museum location that I want everyone to visit that comes down this fall.

On top of all the fun on Wednesday, 9 June, a group of friends in Overland Express will be playing. They were the legend band of Chattanooga throughout the 70's and 80's. They still play on occassion and in fact may be jammin' with Charlie Daniels at our Riverbend Festival the week after the block party.

I wish some other XLR and car nuts could come and see the ocean of classic hot rods that will be taking over the city.
