Its about that time of year again. This year's Hot Rod Power Tour will be from Detroit to Dallas June 2-9. So far Dennis and I are both agreed that we will be trying for the coveted "Long Haul" award (stay on course and make all the checkpoints from start to finish). There is another Detroit XLR planning to join us but he's not on the forum. We will probably trailing a half dozen or more CTS-V's during the cruises and the tour will have several classic Cadillacs like last year.

So I guess we won't be seeing you in Pennsylvania?

PJ (5AM) really wants to go, but she doesn't have the time available and she knows I signed up for this year's Power Tour before the end of last year's.

If all the planets align we may be able to make a few days, but neither of us is counting on it.Last years XLR trip was so much fun , we're really bummed to miss this one, but graduations, school, work, kids, and life in general have impeded our scheduling this trip all year.

Have fun guys, you know we'll be there in spirit.

Well the 2012 Power Tour in in the history books. I never knew I could have so much fun driving 1500 miles with 3000 of my closest friends.

The three long haul XLRs only got together once or twice on the trip so this is the best I could do to capture the moment.

The blue one is Uncle Chevy on this forum and the Black 08 V is a friend of my relatives in Detroit. Uncle Chevy was in a caravan of his own so we only got to chat at the venues. Both of them I originally met at the end of the 2011 Power Tour. I saw at least 3 other XLRs along the way, but they were one day spectators and I unfortunately wasn't able to catch up to the drivers.

My traveling caravan consisted of 4 vettes, 4 mustangs, one firebird, and two black XLR-Vs.

I begged off drag racing in St Louis, but did road course it at Hallett Motor Speedway in OK.

All in all it was a great roadtrip. And the Long Hauler celebration was the largest to date.

I stayed in Dallas a couple extra days to take care of some personal business. I didn't know till I got home that I had just escaped the massive hailstorm there by only a few hours. Phew! That was close. On the way home I crossed another milestone of sorts:
