5 speed to 6 speed

Has anyone tried to upgrade the early XLR's with the 5 speed transmission to the later 6 speed?

Now that would be interesting. Or Corvette's newer 8 speed. They all communicate by all HS GMLAN.

hey guys would like to know if you got any more info on doing this 5spd 5L40/50 to 6spd 6L80e swap.I have 2004 XLR 4.6l

I believe PCM PERFORMANCE PROGRAMMING can modify the transmission control module to do this. I will be checking with them and update later.
