My trunk lid has stopped working by dash, fob or pressure pad. All of these methods will start the pump and as I don't want to burn that out to add to my problem, I've found that a second press of any button/pad will stop the pump. The deck lid/trunk will open using the key and this also activates the pump, and all is well. It closes as it should by the button. My Tech II says DTC 3669, Deck Lid Position Sensor Circuit. I also see Top Not Secure on the DIC.

My questions: Is this sensor out of alignment or adjustable? (I believe it's located on the driver's side support linkage.) Should I be looking for a replacement? Is the latch assembly a possible problem?

I've also noticed a micro switch just inside the driver's side rear fender and wonder if this too is a possible problem.

Thanks for any insight.

Check the BCM for corrosion on the trunk release circuit harness end.

Open hood and passenger door, ensure both windows are up.

Disconnect battery negative.

Locate BCM (under passenger's feet).

Release both small harness ends (both because I can't remember which one of the two has the trunk release signal). (Slip the release catch in a sort of rotating motion, it will cause the connector to separate, out of the BCM socket.) Do not use much force, the release mechanism should move easily.

Spray with contact cleaner (both harness end and BCM). Allow to dry. (About a minute.)

Refit, reconnect battery.

Re-index windows.

Start to finish is under 10 mins. Two/three mins if you have done similar before.

Does this fix the problem?
