Drivers throughout Ohio will see more troopers as the State Highway Patrol sends all of its officers out on the roadways for a day.
The patrol says the so-called "All Out Day" on Friday is a high-visibility enforcement effort by the more than 1,400 troopers throughout the state.
The troopers' increased presence is meant to boost traffic safety and encourage motorists to embrace driving behaviors such as watching the road, wearing seat belts and not getting behind the wheel while under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
The enforcement effort comes ahead of Memorial Day, the traditional start of the summer driving season.
Just in time for my drive to Kalamazoo....
