Seems I have a chirping power steering pulley, either that or a worn serpentine belt. Rather strange with only 38,000 miles. Will know more tomorrow or Friday when I have a chance to get into it. Will post back my findings...

Decided to replace all parts that I ordered while it was apart... the power steering pump pulley and both belts. My belts were imbedded with either pieced of glass or aluminum inside the grooves - took a small blade screwdriver to dig a couple out to see what, in fact, that they were. strange...
All is well now with no cricket chirping in the engine compartment.

Mine has the same mileage but hasn't done that (knock on wood - yet) - so I was curious as to what you had going on.

Figured out that it was the power steering pulley/belt by holding a bar of soap on the pulley. The chirping stopped with the soap, until the slickness wore off then the chirp returned. Figured I just as well replace both belts since they were the same age...

I did the same thing. I had the chirping. The parts weren't that expensive so I replaced the belts and pulleys. No more chirp for 2 years.
