Last Saturday while on our way to a car show when we was still in Ocean City MD. we drove into an unexpected large water puddle when pulling out of an intersection, The water splashed up under the passenger side :(, about 15 minutes later up the road the engine light came on, and it's still on after about 30 stop/starts. Now back in PA seems to be running fine. Is this something I should have checked out or is it just going to take some time to go off :dunno:

I would take it to the dealer and have them pull the code and reset it if everything is working fine now. Not unless you have a Tech II so you can do it yourself. :dunno:

Would an OBD II scanner tell you what the code is?

Usually yes. But not always. Anything that could effect emissions must be readable by the OBD II by Federal law. Other things not.

Speaking of engine lights - Phrede, hope you are making progress with getting yours going again.

We'll did not get a chance to get her checked yet as our daughter had a breakdown on her car and is borrowing the truck so we are driving Roxy everywhere.
Which brought me to this question while out the other day the LOW OIL LEVEL showed up so I checked it was low so added oil, I'm now wondering would that caused the engine light to come on possibly???
Also as of yesterday the engine light is still lite!

Dan,

If your engine light is still on after 30 cycles, I would think there is some type of problem. A Tech II or a trip to the dealer will reveal the code. It may not a big deal, but being it hasn't cleared, means there may be a problem.

Thx Cubby would the low oil cause the light to come on?
