Help! flet in interior

Felt like material coming loose in the interior. Has anyone noticed this happening?

If you’re talking about something that looks like black foam rubber, it’s some sort of insulation around the air vents that deteriorates over the years & then blows out when the HVAC is on. Don’t smear it, & be careful if it gets on your clothes, it’s a tar-like mess. Nasty, right?! You can try looking into the vents & pulling out any you see, or if you happen to have the dash apart (like putting in a new stereo ) you can really get a lot of it out.

I just had the pleasure of discovering this greasy tar like substance blowing out of my air vents as well! It stains anything it gets on. Im having a new stereo put in next week so we will be cleaning that out while the dash is apart.
