Just noticed this morning that I'd lost the red color portion of my glove box emblem. I remember seeing a thread somewhere that addressed this as being fairly common, but can't seem to locate it. Has anyone dealt with this issue with their V? How was it resolved...new emblem, touch-up paint, etc? Failed to locate replacement emblem on EBay. Thanks!

Dealer's parts guy informs me that this emblem is sourced as part of the dash pad only. Of course, dash is fine and the lack of one color on the emblem is not worth $1000 to replace the pad. Looks like a delicate touch-up project to schedule.

Glad to hear the dealership was able to assist with information on the emblem.

xlr-v emblem red color

i don't think you lost the red on the dash emblem, as mine was missing when i purchassed my car with only 38 miles on it. does anyone have the red on their xlr-v dash emblem? :dunno: thanks, bob

My red is there From top to bottom (red white blue ) Will gently check to see if its loose So maybe i can glue it on better if it is

We picked up a Testor's enamel paint marker, gloss red #2503, from a hobby store. It's intended for metal model cars. It was spot on color-wise & looks like it will solve the problem. Just applied it so don't know about durability, but looks like a winner so far. :blinzel:

Nice job! At least paint won't lose its adhesive & fall off into oblivion ; )

Looks great! That should hold just fine as long as you prepped it first (cleaned with a solvent/paint prep) so there was no wax or dash 'dressing'. I use the Testors on the exterior emblems on classic cars all the time, very durable and fade resistant.

I lost this red color too. GM are building great cars but the finishing is not so good.

Me too. I used red fingernail polish and it has held up well. I had sooo much fun picking out the right shade in the cosmetic department.

If you have extra, it sounds like Schooley might be willing to take it off your hands ... :chuckle

Was the red there initially?...mine also has no red...mostly garaged
