GM recalling 1.5 million vehicles

Just read online news wire story; GM is recalling 1.5 million vehicles for possible fire hazard on heated windshield wiper fluid system.

Vehicles affected:

The recall covers the 2006-2009 model year Buick Lucerne, Cadillac DTS, and Hummer H2; 2008-2009 Buick Enclave and Cadillac CTS; 2007-2009 Cadillac Escalade, Escalade ESV and Escalade EXT; 2007-2009 Chevrolet Avalanche, Silverado, Suburban and Tahoe; 2007-2009 GMC Acadia, Sierra, Yukon and Yukon XL; 2007-2009 Saturn Outlook; and 2009 Chevrolet Traverse.

Look's like my CTS is going in!!!

It was a great feature on my 2006 DTS but when I bought the 2009 in July of last year they had already stopped installing them so I escaped the recall.

If you read the article, it says that GM will disable the feature and give you $100.

That reminds me of the time that there was a recall on "Mr. Coffee" coffeemakers because of a potential fire hazard. They would either replace your "Mr. Coffee" or send a gift certificate good for one "Mr. Fire Extinguisher".

I have a Tahoe that falls into this recall. How am I going to serve hot chocolate while driving now?
