I don’t own an XLR, but I do own a ’05 Corvette. Having worked on the Corvette/XLR program, I’ve always been interested in knowing more about each model. The company that I worked for, designed and built the welding equipment that was used to produce the exhaust systems for the base Corvette, Z06, & ZR1 and the base Cadillac XLR & XLR-V. (I was the project manager there.) All of the exhaust systems were built at the Tenneco Automotive plant in Smithville, TN and shipped to the Bowling Green Assembly plant from there.
