I am going to purchase the AUX-2 input that Ray Kawal sells-- that does work with our cars. I am hoping someone on here has installed one- and can let me know the ups and downs of it.

Thanks Mitch

Mitch,

It's been a while since I installed mine, but I'm assuming this is the kit from the XM unit. This is plug and play from the XM module (which is behind the passenger seat in the trunk area). You will want to remove the center waterfall console for access and to help fish your cable into the center console area. You'll also have to remove the center console around the shifter. To accomplish this you will need some plastic pry tools, so as not to scratch or damage anything. Pull down on the chrome trim ring on the shifter to access the torx screw holding the shift knob in place. Once that is removed using your prying tool gently pry up the center console trim toward the rear by the hinged lid. Once you get one side up, it is pretty easy to lift up the other side. Decide where you are going to place the jack and install in your location. Put everything back together.

I just did it. No problems, works well. Depending on the line level output of whatever you are connecting there may be a volume difference between CD/Radio and AUX input. I had that from the BlueTooth interface and solved it with a line level amp. I used an AUX1F not an AUX2 because I have no intention of using XM when unplugged. Mine never gets unplugged. Installation is the same.
