I did a search and could not find any threads on this particular problem. I drove the car earlier today without issue, parked it in the driveway with the top down. Went in and out of the car twice without any issue. Now it early evening my Daughter, Son in Law and Grandson are ready to leave....I go to the car and try to enter and nothing...use the lock/unlock function on the fob and still nothing. Used the bumper key the trunk opens and I used the door latch and the alarm goes off and I still cannot get into the car. Used a step stool to get over the door sat in the drivers seat and was able to start the car, but was not able to put up the top. So I got the car into the garage which was a plus. I could not understand how I could start the car if the fob(s) were not recognized. Went out and got two new batteries, inserted them into each fob and got somewhat the same results.

Now if I press hard on the unlock button I can now enter the car and start it and get the top up, but as soon as I shut the car off the DIC said "no fob found - fob not recognized", but when I left the fob on the passenger seat and exited the horn beeped twice alerting me that the fob was left in the car. So I would think that the fob was recognized in order to execute this alert. OnStar did a diagnostic and could only come up with a code for the "fuel management system" which I have an appointment for on Monday with my dealer. OnStar connected me with one of thier Escalade reps and he could not come up with anything, but suggested that it may be the BCM. The OnStar rep suggested that I have the car towed to the dealer, because he is not sure if the car will shut down enroute. Just cannot figure this out, any suggestions or help is greatly appreciated.

Key Fob not working

I am far from versed on this, but before I did anything else, I would disconnect the battery, for an hour, reconnect it and see whether that reset solves the problem.
Just a WAG.

Key fob

Another thought: You might try leaving the fob in the recepticle in the glove compartment, when you finally drive it to the dealer, or whenever you need to drive the car. I think that position for the remote is extremely sensitive to it. It's just better than leaving it on the passenger seat.

Klaptrapper.....in my haste I forgot to mention that the fobs at different times were inserted into the glove box slot, but got the same results. I only left them on the passenger seat to see if the "fob left in car" alert worked. With that said.....woke up this morning stumbled to the car and both fobs now are working. Return to the house to have my morning cup of joe, got dressed to make my appointment time at the dealership.....and now neither fobs are not working again. Went back in the house and waited about 10 minutes and fob 2 is now working. Got to the dealership and both fobs are now working and have been working ever since. The tech scanned every module in the car with a Tech2 in my presence, and they all checked out without issue. I can not figure what happened to cause this glitch....Aurora Borealis....Jupiter was not aligned with Mars....the US HARP project..... .

How new is your battery? Maybe the drive to the dealership charged the battery enough for everything to work. :dunno::dunno:
These cars do strange things with a weak battery... even a somewhat weak battery...

Don't know :dunno: but I guess it could be possible both FOB's may have gone "haywire" at the same time mine acted the same way but it was just FOB 1 which was mine. My wife's FOB seemed to work so we used that one until the new one came in!

I have an OEM GM battery that was replaced last year under warranty. The tech also checked my charging system and the battery us at 87% at this time.

Don't know if it would cause this problem, but do know there are a couple of grounds that are exposed to the elements and tend to get corroded, loose, etc. They can rank with batteries for causing strange things to happen. Might be worthwhile to have the dealer check those in case they're causing some intermittent problem.
