So I put the divider up so I can go convertible.
The deck comes up about halfway and closes. I try again with the same result. Then after that it says the divider not up and top not secure, in the meantime I cannot open the trunk(decklid) to see the problem. So I go home and figure I can get more serious there. I use the key to open the decklid and while I am lifting it the right side seems sticky, of course being the moron that I am I pull up harder, and finally it gives way. with a little noise. I find that I had a sweatshirt in with the decklid snaps so the connection was probably intermittent. I remove the sweathirt from being caught and viola everything works like a charm. The only issue is after everything was said and done I notice some body damage a crack. I attached a picture. From a perfect body to an obvious flaw.
expletive! F&*%$#$%
Can a body shop fix this kind of thing without breaking the bank? or at all?
If I never fix it, other than drive me crazy how much would that effect trade in.

Thanks
Jeff

On second thought guess I cant upload image.
Basically a big crack on the decklid corner across the little tab

I am certain a good body shop will be able to fix it and you will never know it was cracked. If you were in Colorado Springs I would highly recommend Red Noland Collision Center, they are the best.

I own a collision repair shop in Billings, MT. These cracks can be repaired with no problems whatsoever. They don't go all the way through the deck lid, do they? From the picture, I would guess not. Anyway, it's a simple process of veeing out the cracks and filling with a short-strand fiberglass reinforced body filler, sanding smooth, priming and refinishing.

I'm guessing 3-4 hours labor to repair, another 2-3 hours refinish time + refinish materials, maybe $400-$500 total and it will look as good as new.
