Believe me when I say, the car battery may be weak, when this happens It causes other issues, back in the spring I had just changed my FOB Battery and then about a month later, the FOB won’t work again, so I figured it was a weak FOB Battery, put In a new one then, I started having car battery issues, so that’s what was wrong not FOB Battery itself. You may want to test the car battery.

It's great having forums like this to share information.
You are correct, my car battery is getting old. It seems to me that I read somewhere that these cars are good for about 25 days before the battery drains.
In this case it was only a matter of not using the car for 5 days. I haven't decided if I will get a new battery now or wait until spring, as the car will be going into winter storage within a few days. I think that if I keep the old battery on a battery tender over the winter it will be OK as it still takes a charge but won't hold a charge for very long.
I've had a lot of cars, but this one is kind of a case of technology gone wrong. For example, I had a C5 Corvette, and even if the battery died the drivers door could be opened with a key.
Lesson learned on the XLR

Cheers!

I ran a 8 gauge stranded red insulated cable from the '+' Fuse Box tab near the battery along the fender well and then outside and back under the Valance (splitter) beneath the bumper mounted driving light. I bared about 3/8" and put on a red Marrette after putting the end through a large grommet in an existing 1" hole. It points straight down and out of sight. There is a nearby heavy nut (ground conn.) so I can put jumper cables on. Takes a while just hooked up with a dead battery to get it to start again. At least I can open Doors and get the hood open then.
