I have a 2007 XLR and have noticed that I get a CLUNK when it shifts from 1st to 2nd gear @ very low speed. This is very noticeable lately, but only in low speed. Any ideas what I should look for. I don't think it's the transmission because it shifts fine. Maybe a u-joint or rear-end issue. ? ? ? If any ideas please let me know.. THANKS IN ADVANCE.

I would check the Axle nuts.

this is something i noticed with the 07 i just purchased. clunk at very low speeds. i dont even think its gear shifting, i think its in 1st gear, but when 5mph coasting, after light braking, its like the gears have some slack, so when you apply a bit of gas again, the gears slap back together, thus the clunk.
anyone else ever feel this, anything to resolve it?

I had something like this shifting from 1st to 2nd.it would shift late and when it went into 2nd would kinda shift hard or maybe a clunk?? tech changed the 1st to 2nd shift solenoid,it was sticking, cured the problem.done at 40k, still good at 56k!! good luck :thumbsup Al
