Can anyone give me the oem part number for the key for the back bumper to open the trunk if you have a dead battery? I thing cadillac can take your vin. number and cut the key. Do you know how much it cost? Thank You :dunno:

Yes... any GM dealer can cut the key from your VIN; you don't need the key part number, the dealer should be able to find that as well. My guess is you're looking $30-$40, I think my dealer here in Billings charges $25 for the code lookup and an additional $10 to cut the key.

Key

I purchased my 2009 car back in July. There was only one remote. I purchased a second remote for $184.66 and that did not include the key. I went back later and had a key cut and it cost $67.43.

Hope this helps.

Wow, what is the dealer's name you use? When I bought my 06 (used with only 10,250 miles on it in Dec. of 07) I only got the #2 FOB and my local dealer only charged me $50.00 for a #1 FOB including re-programming both the FOBs, internal unit and the bumper key. And I bought my XLR from a private party that lived in Costa Masa, CA., almost 100 miles from where I live, not from them!
Of course that dealer sold out to Penski and although the crew is the same as what were there back in 07/08, the new management has a different mine set on what's more important MONEY or CUSTOMER! And MONEY won!!!

Jack they got an entirely different key and fob in 08, I suppose that would be the reason for a much higher price, although that does sound like a LOT!

:pat:You're right Airmike, I hadn't considered that.:pat:

Different dealers are likely to have different prices as each is an independent operation. If you send the VIN#, I may be able to get the OEM part. I am attaching a link for Cadillac owners that has access to maintenance schedules, dealer locator, etc. Let us know if you any concerns or questions. Thank you.
