I put Michelin Pilot Tires on my XLR. Wonderful ride. I saw in the owners manual to rotate tires right rear to left front left rear to right front. Should I do that with the Pilot tires?

Tire rotation,,,,,,,,,,,,

Bob,,, good question. First you need to know if your tires are Directional Tires OR Asymmetrical Tires

A Directional tire can easily be identified. All Directional tires will have an arrow on the sidewall of the tire. This arrow tells you how the tire should be mounted on the vehicle and its direction of travel on the wheel. Directional tires can not be cross [ X ] rotated from side to side Same side rotation is fine as long as the tire/wheel diameter size is the same...... Corvettes & Vipers usually have different size tires/wheels, from front to back.

An Asymmetrical tire has a tread pattern that is designed for two purposes. Asymmetrical tires have one side of the tire that is designed entirely different from the other side of the tire. Asymmetrical tires will always have a marking to identify which side of the tire should be mounted facing out. The sidewall will usually say "mount this side out." Asymmetrical and symmetrical tires can be cross rotated - meaning there are no restrictions to what rotation pattern you can use.

Hope this helps you out.....

We have installed Bridgestone Drive Guard Runflats on both our XLR and the Corvette, which are of the Asymmetrical design.

Thanks for your help. Bob M
