I knew the car was stuck in R and wouldn't start, but tried anyway today. I gather a fairly large square red light in the left side of the HUD. It has a 5 point star in the square with what looks like the front end of a car. It immediately goes off. Any ideas?

As you found, that's the image of your XLR exploding when your ACC thinks you're about to hit something. It will also slam on the brakes for you. And, when you're not expecting any of the above (because the ACC picked up traffic on the OTHER side of the road), it's surprising enough to make you almost self-implode your XLR. :reddevil Which is why I almost never use ACC ...

Yes, ACC is useless in heavy traffic.

It's awesome for long distance drives in light traffic.

I use mine all the time. Anytime I drive over 30 the cruise is on. It works perfect and makes sure if you are not paying attention and someone slams on their brakes in front of you you will stop. I love it.
