So my '04's been sitting for a couple weeks and I go to get in and the battery is stone dead. The stupidity part is the emergency key is in the console. I can't believe I put it in there. Anybody have any ideas?

Thats not stupity thats just life lesson. If you can jack up the front you can unplug the electric fan and put power to the plug. That goes directly to the battery so not jumper cables but a trickle charger to the wire. You can also get a glass pillow which is a little square you can slip in between the door glass and pump it up. Gives you enough room to wiggle a rod in and pull up on the emergency door release. I bought a cable pulling kit from harbor freight with a dozen one foot rods. 10$ Then i bent the hook like a question mark and pulled the emergency release with ease. Its a straight shot. From the back of the glass. Thats the only way i know. Beats busting a glass out

Man do I appreciate your response. I found a second remote, which I have never used. There is a key attached to it. I'm hoping it opens the trunk. I'm hoping it works. If not, then I'll try your idea works.

Hey

Well, I have had to manually lift open my trunk five or six times due to a power issue . I never knew to lift and pull back. Saw no interference with the corners. Corners of what ? The lid ?

If you gas struts are very good you may not have an issue. But unlike the hood where the hinge is at the very rear and pivots there , the trunk pivots more in the middle. When you pick up the rear the povot will let the long thin corners of the trunk go low and bottom out on the body. It can crack crack the fiberglass
