Close call at the end; almost lost him
Excellent TOP DOG. I'll try it in the morning. The horror of my Cadillac Service Center went to an all time high this evening.
Last night, I stopped by to personally check on any resolution to the problem on the way home from work. The Service Rep advised me that the Tech had ordered a new "close" switch and it would be in the shop this morning. This was contrary of what I told them to both check and/or do, but I was given bad info that resulted in me making bad assumptions.
The Service Rep recanted on his previous story and said the Tech actually had only "cleared codes" and not re-flashed, and the failure codes had come back with "Bad Switch." I took it with a grain of salt and waited.
It didn't take long. By mid-day today, after the new switch had been installed, the system "malfunctioned." They were still working on it until closing.
Now the HORROR. While passing the Dealership this evening on the way home at 06:30pm (Service Center closed at 02:00), my wife noticed my XLR in the side lot with lights on. We circled around to go back and check and found our XLR in the side lot with the engine running, lights on and doors locked. I found the Sales Manager in his office (almost everyone else had gone home) and advised him of the finding, and with his help, I found my keys in the Service Center laying out in the open on the counter.
You can understand why my XLR is now back in my garage and I'm looking for another Dealership to work on it. We left with our XLR immediately. I'm glad to get the XLR back no matter the current condition. I will be having a few meetings with the Management of the Dealership when they come back to work on Monday.
