I just noticed a blotch pattern on my windows. Like a bad tint job, but my windows have never been tinted. Has anyone experienced this?
Thanks

Ghost in my xlr

After taking a short drive today. I went to park the car and put the roof up. Then I continued to hold the button down to roll up the windows. All of the sudden my passenger window decided to roll halfway down. So I rolled it back up, and it did it again. The 3rd time I tried this I put the window up and quickly opened the door. It stopped. So now is the question. Will I have to reindex the passengers window? :dunno:

Yes, you will & it should solve the problem for a while. My passenger window decides it wants to be re-indexed about every 9 months, for no apparent reason. I'm just going to keep re-indexing & moving on as long as it doesn't start happening more frequently.

Maybe it's an '06 infrared XLR thing ...

Get rid of those polarized sunglasses and get some good Ray-Bans!

Maybe it IS an '06 thing. Mine did it a couple of weeks ago, too. I just re-indexed the passenger window, and all's well. Doesn't look to me like it's linked to the Infrared color... :chuckle

Polarized glasses? I had my polarized lenses replaced because of other problems viewing the displays. Got tired of having to tilt my head to see the radio.

So there you have it Richiez all the information you need to understand both window blotches and window re-indexing. :dunno:

Somehow I thought that this thread was only about window blotches.

I did that today. the reindexing. I first only held the window button in the up position. :( Then after that didn't work. i remembered the post to do it for the down side too. So i redid the up and then redid the down. Works fine now.
Thanks

One job done. Now the "wish list" or "want list" Lets see, want/wish for painted calipers, the mesh grill, and a big warehouse to hold all my wishful toys,

My 04 "Grey Jewel" had to be re-indexed a couple of weeks ago. I put the window up and it came half way down, twice so I re-indexed it and all is well.

Both of my XLRs experienced this from time to time. I have also had issues twice with the trunk not closing etc. I look at these problems as "computer" issues and you need to reboot them. Re-indexing the windows or running the top a couple of times through its cycle solves the problems.
