Well arrive in Ocean City MD last week and there is the gas gauge show 3/4 a tank :dunno: (no way should be between 1/4 & 1/2) so filled up and still showing 3/4 tank. Turn out this time it's in the tank so they called Route 66 my aftermarket warranty and they are cover the whole job plus they recommended to replace everything. so the 2600.00 bill turn into pay the tax and diagnostic charge = around $200 total out of pocket .................to bad it runs out in May of 2016 :( I paid $1800 for this warranty in 2011 when I purchased it.....got my money worth out of it this time!!!!

It's not the first time Phil I'd bet in total $s without looking at past receipts I'd say over $5k I know it was the water pump, then later some coolant seals that included removing water pump again, a munch of oil seals & gaskets, relearn top, dropped rear end and installed new friction plates, and now this big gas tank job! Which I had trouble before but ended up being a connector so it was mostly diagnostic charge which they don't cover! It was a 5 year or 100,000 mile which comes first! It's close call but time will beat the mileage as she'll soon be going in storage and mileage is 97k. I guess it's soon time to start looking for a new or renew this warranty plan! And gonna need new tires in spring!

That's encouraging news. I've been debating about buying one, but every time I key in on a particular one, I read reviews on them and get scared off. With cars getting 9-10 yrs. old and having the repair history that these cars have, the warranties are pretty pricey if available. Another issue that concerns me is paying for a warranty that may cover a particular item, but that item may not be available. About decided to just keep my money in my pocket, but I do like reading posts on situations like yours. Thanks:thumbsup

After my all bills to this Route 66 I'm not sure they will happy invite me back! But when my service guy tells me they recommend replacing everything in the tank it makes me wonder if they are trying to empress me with only about 8 months left! Although they don't pay for everything it's was still a great investment I think! So I guess I will contact them and see what they are going to offer!

Would you please PM me and let me know what the cost is when/if you renew? I would be very interested in hearing the results.

Thanks,
Phil
