Help! stuck inside

how do you open door from insidd, when battery is ddad?

Down on the floor, front left side of the drivers seat is a pull up lever (right side of passenger side) you just pull up to unlatch door, but beware if you pull that lever when the battery is not dead it sets off the car horn alarm! It's definitely alarming inside the garage..... LOL

Life saver

You are a blessing! She is still upset, but safe. It will cost me a steak dinner to make it up to her. And a new battery. But I still love my XLR! I think I'll have a beer before I get home! Thanks again.

The lever is a little hard to see in this picture, but it's on the floor behind the X on the XLR LIGHTED SILL! Hope this helps!

This is a true story in 2015. The Corvette has the same door release system. A 72 year old man recently bought a 2007 Corvette and locked himself and his dog inside when the battery died. He didn't have his cell phone and both he and his dog died of heat stroke in Texas in attempting to get out. Obviously no laughing matter. By the way, what color and mileage on your new beauty?

Don't get just any battery at Walmart or the like. There's a lot of electronics that stay on after you exit the car. An Optima or Odyssey battery is in your future. Do a search here for the battery that impresses you. I went with an Odyssey last year and don't regret the purchase one bit.

So you can use this as an excuse for emergency training, and she will be so happy you got her some safety equipment for all your cars!

Get something like this,, (google search it)

Waterproof 5200mAH Emergency Rechargeable Power Bank Torch, Seatbelt Cutter & Window Breaker

Every car should have something like this in it and you should learn how to use it.

In an accident, your door might be jammed shut, and you need to break the side window, this can do it.

And / or you can't unlock your seatbelt, this has a seatbelt cutter in it!

All cars should have a flashlight too, and something like this device does all three.

Get one for all your cars, show her how to use it (well, don't show her how to break a window, just tell her, lol) and her panic being locked in will make her think twice about future emergencies and being prepared for them.
