I'm going to put my 2007 Base Raven on the market. Garaged and covered always - very clean with about 27k miles. Anyhow, I've an acquaintance that runs a classic car auction and has offered to consign the car. What do you guys think about sales forum? Auction, Ebay, Internet, other? He seems to think the market on a 2007 Base is probably ~$25k - your thoughts?

Check the Barrett-Jackson results from this week which also includes a recent Mecum result that is referenced on the Barrett-Jackson thread. eBay is always good as a way to see what posted prices are sitting at.

ebay is were you go to buy deals not sell them. If you have a car people are looking for they will find it. Craigslist on 3 or 4 major cities will sell it for what its worth. I bought one 700 miles away and saved about 6000$ and it was a trade in on a truck the previous owner drove 1500 miles to buy.

For What Its Worth regarding Barrett-Jackson auction Jan 2019. : The overall seller's average sold price on the 6 XLR sales.

1) $13,725 2 XLRs indicating no mileage
2) $29,980 2 XLRs averaged 32,500 miles
3) $49,110 2 XLR Vs averaged 42,750 miles

Condition and Mileage was the key in this auction.

What was so special about the two that sold for $49k?? I'll sell mine for that!!

The first 2007 XLR V Red 41K miles sold for $67.3 minus 10% commission.

The second 2007 XLR V Black 44K miles sold for $43.6 minus 10% to the house

Chad, you're authorized in throwing in both jackets to seal the deal.:)

Get what it's worth,,,,,

Tex,,,, Since you've been to the EAST, I'll give you good advice:

Hold-off until late March or early April, then advertise it for 'free' on www.cars DOT com - www.cargurus DOT com - and your local CraigsList DOT org

Price it at ** $34,500 and don't use OBO.

Instead state further down in ad > Reasonable CASH OFFER Considered
You can always go 'down' but can't go 'up' unless you have several buyers standing there with $100 bills in their hands, lol

Sounds like a very nice, low mileage XLR..... If it doesn't have any issues, you should have no problem selling it. Auctions and consignment options, I'd stay away from unless its a last resort or you don't want to hassle with selling your own car. If that is your choice, remember someone else is getting into your wallet if they sell your car.

** My opinion only.... you decide what its worth.

Good luck, p z :patriot:

you can also price it too high so that people just read on to the next one. I would never even contact someone with a 25K car asking 35k. As Zen said you can always come down. Price it slightly above fair market and hope for a full offer. To the younger crowd now days best offer does not mean down only . I have called on 10k cars listed as best offer and tell them I will give 10k only to be told their best offer at present is 11.5 so they set a best offer as a sort of reserve price.
