I simply cannot get into Learn Mode simply because I only get one horn chirp instead of two. What is my problem and what do I do to correct it?
Don

What procedure are you following to get into Learn mode?

Just putting the car in accessory mode, closing the door, and pressing lock and unlock at the same time on my fob (I have tried two fobs). I only get on chip from the horn rather than two. Even though I only get one chirp I still have tried going to the left front wheel/tire and holding a magnet close to the valve stem to see if I might get a chirp from there but no luck. I have tried three different magnets in several different locations but still no job. If I try the lock/unlock with the car in the "on" position I do not get any chirps. I have got to "Tires" on my Tech 2 and if shows "learn" but there is no "lean" button to push. Well, that was probably as clear as mud.:)

That’s interesting. According to the doco, you are correct, with car in ACC, hold lock+unlock until two horn beeps. I am wondering if you need the Fob to be Fob 1?

I appreciate your prompt reply but the main fob that I tried is Fob #1 and then I tried Fob #2 so that idea is kind of out the window. I thought maybe the batteries in the sensors were dead but that would not stop the horn from chirping twice. I put new wheels on the vehicle but I don't know if the psi was registering before or not. I obviously would know more if I could get into "learn" mode which I can't.
Don (awaiting your next idea)

Ah, drat. Was afraid that was already the case. I’m hoping someone else chimes in here, but in the meantime I believe tech2 can also initiate learn mode, I’ll see if I can find the steps. I’ve not had to learn TPMS on this car yet so this will be a learning experience for me too haha

This is what I get on my Tech 2 and it says learn but nothing is happening. There just has to be someone out there that can tell me how to get two chirps when I hold lock and unlock at the same time.

Here is an updated image from my Tech 2 and you will see that the "Learn in Progress" shows a "Yes" but if I hold both the lock and unlock it will go to "No" and then back to "Yes" if I hold them both again. But if I go around to each wheel with the appropriate

magnet it will switch back to "No" before I get to the left rear....go figure.

I almost wonder if there’s an issue with the RDCDL or body control module - I’ve not looked too deeply into any of those types of things, but if you go a menu layer or two up, there should be a choice to check for DTCs. Anything come up?

The BCM do not show any problems. I assume that you meant the RCDLR rather than the RDCDL and if so it shows that the door handle switches are inactive but everything else is okay. I have noticed that several individuals state that they only get one horn chirp when starting the learn process thus I think there is a chance that the TPMS sensors simply have dead batteries thus I am not getting a response from them. I have ordered four new TPMS sensors and a TPMS Tool EL-50448 from Amazon. I hate to have all four tires remounted and the new TPMS installed but I think it is worth a try. Your comments are welcome.

Problem solved! Just a matter of the sensors being too old and the batteries dead. Amazon came through again. BTW, one horn chirp was all that was needed to get into learn mode. Ignore the two chirp business.
