    XLR WANTED

Recently sold... As a point of reference, I sold my 04 XLR with 40K miles in September for $22,000 in the Chicago area. Car was in great condition, excellent interior, no scratches on the exterior, minor curb rash on one wheel and just had the motor for the convertible top replaced. I was the...

    Folding Top Problem - B3670

Ended up getting the hydraulic pump replaced by a local shop in the Chicago area called "Riggs Brothers" for a total of around $2,400. Works like new and cost about $2,000 less than what was quoted by the local Cadillac dealer. Thanks to everyone for the help.

    Folding Top Problem - B3670

A big thank you to CCC and everyone else for your help. I have taken the XLR into a local convertible repair shop called Riggs Bros. for the pump replacement as the cost was half of what the Caddy dealer wanted. Will report back next week on how things turn out.

    Folding Top Problem - B3670

Thanks CC! I should have clarified about the "first two steps" being 1. Windows lowering & 2. Rear deck lid unlatches. I also was not aware that the motor overtemp warning was a clear indication that the pump had completely failed. Since the B3670 code indicates that the pump is shot...

    Folding Top Problem - B3670

I have spent considerable time reading recommendations on the site and greatly appreciate all of the input that is available. I'm hoping to obtain some verification from the community on what is needed to resolve my problem. The other day after lowering the top for the first time this season...

Looking for input on selling my 2004 XLR

Thanks CC! That is the kind of positive feedback that I was hoping for. Given the minor amount of work that was required, it was easy enough to restore the car to like new condition (aside from the difficulty of finding a new hood). My concern is mostly with someones perception affecting...

Looking for input on selling my 2004 XLR

Hello All, I'm hoping to get some input on asking price for my 2004 Platinum XLR. The car is in excellent condition with around 29,000 miles, never driven in winter and I am the second owner. The only problem is that shortly after I bought the car in 2014 some clown backed up into the car...

    Something different

My guess is they were going for burnt orange (UT Longhorns) but missed it by a wide margin.

You have excellent taste Grand Daddy. Although since you're only one year older than me, the title "Grand Daddy" sounds a little out of place for someone with such a hot ride:cool: - See more at...

Thanks Charles, believe it or not I think that my wife is finally starting to "get over it".

    I think I'm in love

So far I have to say that this car looks great in every available color! Infrared does make a bold statement though and I kinda prefer to be understated.

    Aux input to sound system

Thank you all for this great thread. I recently bought the AUX 1 from Ray and it works great in my XLR. One question though, I thought that I should still be able to get XM if nothing is plugged into the AUX port on the cable. Is that not correct?

    I think I'm in love

Thanks, the funny thing is that up until a month ago I lived not far from you in Austin, TX so winter driving wouldn't have been an issue. Hope to move back sometime soon....

    I think I'm in love

Thanks JazMan, hoping my wife comes around like yours did but unless the car were to look like a puppy she probably won't be too excited.

    I think I'm in love

I had never even thought about buying an XLR but when I went to the local Caddy dealer to look at a 2011 CTS I saw her. 2004, Light Platinum with only 17,800 miles. If I didn't know better I would have thought it was a new car as it had been so well cared for. While admittedly, the wife was...
