Ladies and gents - Happy Memorial Day to all. If you served, then I thank you deeply for your service - and for ensuring America's freedoms. Thank you!

Down to business. I am purchasing (in the next couple of days) a new in-dash navigational system/stereo head unit that supports, at the very least, a backup/rear camera setup.

For those community members who have purchased/installed a backup/rear camera, please share with me what kind/brand/model of backup/rear camera you bought. Any links would be greatly appreciated - thank you!

FYI, this is not a plug and play installation. You may have a very hard time finding an installer for it. Search for a thread APP Radio and there is detailed info on this.

Hi Rex and Fire -

Prior to starting this thread, I did, what I thought, was a pretty thorough search of the threads. I’m NOT looking for advice on head units (as I think I’m purchasing the newest Kenwood); what I am looking for is what backup/rear camera I should consider.

Note, my research has led me to believe I have to buy the backup/rear camera separate from the head unit. That’s why I’m asking for community input.

Thanks -

Jay

I had a Kenwood DNX995S installed last year and bought 2 cameras off of Amazon for front/back.

Was in the same boat trying to track down specifics about camera recommendations.

They were Natika brand, but they show up as unavailable on Amazon now.

There is a brand called Parkvision currently available on Amazon that has the same exact description as the ones I bought for the same price - $35.99.

You can certainly spend more, but these have worked very well. Only issue I've found is a bit of glare at night from the backup lights.
