Hope this doesnt sound like a stupid question but the 2005 XLR that i just recently purchased has the letters BVLGARI above the speedometer and also on the key fobs. What does this mean? Is it on every XLR and does it increase the value? Thanks for your responses.

Others can probably answer this better but I will let you know my understanding. Please defer to others that may respond. BVLGARI is a very high end watch maker and is in other high end areas of business. The BVLGARI speedometers are found in all XLRs except the last year in 2009.

Does it make your XLR more valuable? I say yes because the original purchase prices were about $80,000 + up to $100,000 + for Vs. The precision of a high end BVLGARI produced speedometer is (in my view) justification for the most expensive Cadillacs produced.

Nothing rare as to other XLRS but as to other vehicles it is rare and special indeed.
FYI

It's on every XLR... Bugari, a very high-end italian watch designer, designed the instrumentation on the XLR. In fact, the XLR was the first production car to present Bulgari-designed instrumentation. Bulgari's watch designer, Stefano Sbarigia spent tiem at GM's technical center in Michigan developing the instrumentation and later refined the design in Italy. Apparently the goal was to match the insturments to Bulgari's "Aluminium Chronon" line of watches. The signature of Bulgari is a double "Bvlgari Bvlgari", which is around all their watches and clocks, but their wasn't enough space, for the double since the tach intersects the speedometer, so the solution was to just run it around the speedometer alone. GM decided to also add the double "Bvlgari Bvlgari" to the key fob as well.

From what I understand they just removed the Bvlgari name from the face but it is still the same gauge. Now you got me curious! :dunno:
Cad Tech: do you know this answer? OR Does someone have access to a parts book that covers the 6 model years: are the part numbers the same?

I will check part numbers tomorrow and post my findings...

Everything above sounds right. I thought they were also in select Ferrari gauges? The reason they stopped the brand in 09 is money.
