Can anyone tell me what this little box in the console is for and if all xlr's have them , mine does not. Just curious. Thanks

I don't believe my '07 XLR has it either. What year of XLR was this console in that has the box?

This photo is from an 06. Mine (08) has the mounting ribs for one. :dunno:

My 06 V has it... its intended to be a coin box... its not very good, btw. :)

This coinbox appears to be the same as in my 2000 DTS (fits the mounting "ribs"). I personally think it is one of the better "factory" coinboxes I've seen. My 2005 XLR did not come with one either. With Illinois' IPASS, I do not find myself using coins very much, so I have not bothered trying to track one down.

It is for storing change. It is handy when having to make stops at toll booths. All XLRs came with them from the factory.

Ours is packed full with quarters.... we have a $3 toll bridge that we use now and then .... it also comes in handy for all those fast food drive-thru drink orders ;)

I use mine for those pesky parking meeters as I hate loose change in my pockets. I fed the meter last Monday when I met my pastor for coffee, came out and had a ticket on the windshield but still had eleven minutes on the meter. $20.00 and if you don't respond in seven days another $5.00 is tacked on. I saw the referee the next day and he assured me I am not the first person to feed the wrong meter and he excused the ticket. I think the City of Colorado Springs needs to lign up the paint stripes with the meters better so you know which is your meter. All's well that ends well.:lol::lol:

Thank-You

Thank you all for your intput, it drives me crazy not to know every detail of my car. And now i know, Thanks again
