Help! Cruise control stopped working...

No warning messages, but no response to activation button on the stalk or gap adjustment on the steering wheel. Any chance it’s anything but the unit? I had been doing quite a bit of highway driving before hand and someone wondered if it were bugs somewhere...

Happened on my 2005 and the repair was a new brake cable. It had streched over time and the cruise control was assuming the brake had been applied and would not set. Hope this will help.
