Hey what's up guys... Thanks for all the valuable information on the site. I have an 05 XLR with front passenger side damage that I'm working on. I hope to pick your brains and hopefully share some info in the process.

Welcome!

Help me with what is going on in that picture!

Welcome aboard Just some friendly info. Totally optional if you want to do this but check on the headlight issue. Since you are already working on the side. I think the 05's ppl were mentioning that they replaced the headlights with 06's headlights because of corrosion. I think that there is a post on the issue.

Ouch! That hurts right? It was nasty! I replaced the front suspension, steering gear/linkage/tie rod/A-arm... Got the hub and wheel back on. But I'm stuck at the junction box. The transmission wiring harness assembly cables are frayed (ACDelco 10340729). A Cadi tech told me that GM doesn't have a procedure/routing diagrams for a harness replacement. The beast next to her is a 41 Buick fastback. Swapping engines on that... Going from a 350 to a 455 and keep it all Buick.

Thanks hawkeye372. I appreciate the feedback. I will definitely go for the 06 headlight.

Welcome, I thought it'll be best while the car is undergoing some minor/major work.

First, welcome to the site. There are other folks on this forum who have undertaken the challenges you're facing, so be sure to solicit their experience.

Second, the '04-'05 headlights had an issue with the DRL lenses "crazing" from heat. There are several posts on that on this site, including the wiring change (jumper cable) you'll need in order to upgrade to the '06+ lights, where the crazing issue was fixed.

As to the pic', it looks like there's a skylight in the roof, so God can watch you working on the XLR. :chuckle
