Help! In need of top position sensor 88956589

Hello,

I am in need of a top position sensor for the roof Part number 88956589. I guess GM stopped making this part and now my roof or trunk will not work. Please help!

Thanks for the reply John. Many sites have it listed like it is still available and when I order it they come back with saying it is not available anymore. I even had a few search the national database of parts.

I think my only hope is finding one used.

Check here. I ordered a high mount brake light from them couple of weeks ago. They show it in stock

Thanks guys! GM parts direct claims they can get it for me in about a week. I will keep my fingers crossed.

Something tells me when word that these sensors are sporadically "discontinued" gets out, there's going to be a run on them.

If the parts well were to run dry on these, it's "Manual mode or Bust" to move the top--which would be very disheartening indeed.

When I look that sensor up on GM parts it's listed as such:8895689 Position Sensor XLR; RED
Then there's another listing for one that's GREEN.

Are these things color coded or what?
