My rear view mirror is lose and flops. I googled it, and it said I had to get inside mirror to tighten. Got inside of mirror I did get the front cover off but there was no place to tight. does the plastic cover come off that is is actually on the front window and it is hiding under that?

Mine does the same. Took it to Cadillac and was told there was no way to tighten. Said it needed to be replaced. Needless to say it's still in my car. Doesn't flop but won't stay in place.

Thanks that's kind what the service man was hinting that it has no way of tighten and it would have to be replaced and they are not available

Possibly,,,,

Possibly the car has had a windshield replaced,,,and the installing tech didn't know how to remove the mirror from its base without breaking the internal tabs that make it fit tight? I'd almost bet that this was the case...as I've read this scenario many times on the Corvette board. There is one correct procedure to remove the mirror from its base, and if not done correctly you end up with the 'loose/floppy' mirror movement. Be sure the glass replacement person has the experience to do this right, or demand another tech to replace your windshield.
