Just curious. I have a 05 XLR with 47k miles always maintained, but at running temperature idle it is around 16-18 pounds. Is this normal for the Northstar or could I have a bad sender. On acceleration it goes right up to 50 pounds plus.

About right. The N* has surprisingly low oil pressure at idle.

I figured that was more than likely the case, Thanks for confirming that.

For your (and others) info, taken from my X:

Oil life at 65% left, normal operating temperature, correct oil fitted:

* At idle: 18-19, maybe 20
* At 1,000 rpm: 40
* At 2,500 rpm and higher: 60

Running slightly hotter than usual (heavy traffic stop/start), temp rising to 220
* At idle: 18
* Other rpms, same as above.

That is pretty much where my car is. Feel much better about it now. Thanks for the info.
