Wanted to upgrade the grill on the car but not many options out there. I'm gonna chrome the upper grill if I can't find, make, acquire a horizontal billet grill. I came up with a cheap alternative for the lower grill and still keep the acc. fully functional.

I understand that others have "upgraded" (I think this may be more a matter of personal taste here) to chrome grills. My 2008 has chrome as stock. You might want to check out that option. It might be cheaper than chroming your existing grill or fabricating something new.

Your lower grill change looks OK but do you have any airflow? Can not tell from the photo.....

Thanks im really holding out for a billet grille. The lower grille is actually the same mesh type as the stock plastic just aluminum mesh. Also in the process of making a air diverter to direct the air better from the valance area. To make a better COLD air intake system.

Something that you might wanna keep in mind, when I upgraded my lower grille, it came with a v series badge that goes directly over the acc, and it still works no problems. Heard of people losing the acc with a complete mesh grille.

You can get the factory chrome grill for about $300 from gmpartsdirect. I don't have the part # handy, but you can find it on here (I did). It won't say chrome & they won't tell you it's chrome unless you give them a VIN that came w/a chrome grill - but it is. You'll have to get the bottom edge painted to match your color.

Thanks for the info. Really want a billet grill trying to source material. If I can't I'll probably wait till winter take the original off and have chromed. Cost no more than 100 bucks and some shipping. I have a good chromer already.
