Can the XLR Navigation System be updated?

Updated as in newer maps, no, newest map disk is 2009. Updated as in newer operating system, none that I know of.
Replacement of entire system has been done with couple of new head units. Search APPRADIO here in the forum and there is detailed info on this.

I know there's a Panasonic head unit riding around in an XLR, and a couple of Kenwoods (one of them mine) riding around as well.
Contrary to some beliefs, upgrading to a new system is fairly painless, and well worth it. Kenwoods especially since they have Garmin GPS map systems.
