Hi,

I need to remove the seat back insert on my passenger seat. I can get my fingers behind the insert but I am concerned to just pull it out. I do not want to break anything. Does anyone know the correct procedure to remove the insert?

Thanks

2016-02-08 14.59.42.jpg This might help. I had to have the outer bolster repaired last February. The upholstery shop had to take the center pad out in order to remove the outside cover. Looks like it has to be moved up or down to unlock the white clips on the center pad.

The first time I tried to remove the seat center cushion, I was sweating blood, thinking I was about to destroy something and end up having to buy a whole new insert. Once you know how to remove it, it's easy.

First, you need to remove the seat from the car, so you can access the push pin retainers that secure the two flaps at the bottom of the cushion. If you haven't already done so, use a thick pad to protect the sill plate when you man-handle the seat out. It's deceptively heavy and unwieldy to maneuver. Have a beer once it's out.

Then, place your hands on either side of the top seam and pull down (like you mean it) about 2 1/2 inches and the ventilation line will be free. Down another beer to celebrate and you can move on to whatever the next step it.

I've included a few pictures (worth thousands of words) to show a little better detail of what you're fighting with.

I hope this is of some help to you. Good luck!
